I fly out of KHWO (N. Perry) in busy south florida. I just moved here and
started filing and flying out of here.
My 430 doesn't seem to have DP or Standard arrivals listed with HWO. It has
them for nearby FLL and MIA and OPA-Locka. Can I insert them into the flight
plan page manually ? What is the easiest way to do this?

My experience is that DPs that depend of radar vectors aren't in the DB. I
don't see how you could put them in the DB anyway.

I fly my airplane with a IFR GNS-430 out of HWO. I have only been issued a
DP one time, the Miami. The Miami Nine (natrually), WINCO transition. I
just put inserted WINCO as the first fix, since I sure did not plan on over
flying the Dolphin VORTAC as called for in the DP. More often than not I am
headed for PIE or CLW and if I file IFR off the ground I file HWO, LBV,
BRDGE.BRDGE5. Since there is almost always some sort of delay getting a IFR
release out of HWO, most of the time I depart VFR on a VFR flight plan, then
ask ZMA for a IFR when in their airspace. It is usually quick and easy.

I rarely try to send messages from a newsgroup. Please drop me a note at
if you don't mind, since I have never been sure if a
message actually gets out when I send them from a newsgroup.

By the way I learned to fly at HWO in 1956. I spent most of the time from
63 to 90 elsewhere, but finally ended up back in S. Florida and flying out
of HWO again.
